"I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 26 years and while I have always tried to stay active and maintain control of my diabetes, I was never heart-and-soul committed to diabetes management until last year when I joined a group called Triabetes (www.triabetes.org). In 2008, Triabetes convinced 12 type-1 diabetics to complete an Ironman Triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) to promote new standards in diabetes management. I would like to take this opportunity to express my enthusiastic support for the new beverage REVd. I am an orthodontist with 45 years experience. REVd contains Xylitol as a mild sweetener which inhibits the growth of Strep mutans that is generally accepted to be the bacterial component of tooth decay. Due to this, it might be a good drink to put in kids sippy cups as opposed to sugary fruit juices or standard soft drinks. My own fasting blood sugar is about 110 and diet is important to avoid real diabetes. I drink a lot of REVd; the taste is fresh and pleasant and quenches thirst well. It refrigerates well and is not carbonated or acidic. It is made of great ingredients and I plan to drink a great deal of it from now on.

Hello, my name is Simon Bennett and I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 14 years. I have always thrived on overcoming challenges and thinking outside the box to accomplish what others think may be out of reach. Competing in 2 different sports at the Elite level while balancing my Type 1 Diabetes has given me a unique insight. While at a outreach event for Diabetes I met Sammy Nasrollahi, CEO of Hydro One Beverages, and tried their products. Having been involved in sports at the elite level for many years, and as a Type 1 Diabetic, I have used several different sports drinks for my training and recovery. The first thing I did was turn it over to read the ingredients and, to my surprise, Hydro One had no artificial sweeteners and it tasted so good I kept drinking it!! Hydro One REV d line were the first products I have ever seen to use cinnamon extract and their Sports drinks have the right amount of protein to balance blood sugars. I use Hydro One BODE Sports Drink in my water bottles during my training rides, which are anywhere from one to four hours. The Hydro One keeps my blood sugars balanced and I have not experienced spikes in my readings while using any Hydro One products. For me, it's all about prior planning and preparation mentally and physically which will prevent poor performance. Using the Hydro One products before, during, and after my training rides is one of the best ways I can be prepared to compete and achieve my goals.
I began my athletic career in 1996 as a swimmer. In 1997, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and have never let it slow me down. After a very successful career as a junior swimmer, I was asked by a coach who worked with the Australian World Championship and Olympic teams to join the Elite High Performance Swim program based in Melbourne. I swam until 2005 and in 2006 began cycling. I began competing in local cycling events and my results drew the attention of Tim Decker, a coach to many of Australia's young Pro Tour riders. In eight months I went from an entry level to a Professional category cyclist. In 2009, I left Australia to pursue an opportunity to combine his passions for cycling and Diabetes outreach with the Team Type 1 Cycling Team based in the United States. That same year, I was part of the RAAM (Race Across America) 8 man team that broke the World Record for the transcontinental crossing. The record still stands today- 5 days, 9 hours, 5 minutes.

My whole adult life I have been involved with the treatment and day to day management of Diabetes. I worked as a Physician Assistant for a Internal Medicine practice for several years. Our practice included many newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetics. Part of my responsibilities included nutrition and meal planning to help them manage their Diabetes. I later became a stay at home mom and when my son was 10 years old he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Managing and overcoming Diabetes became the new normal and we were determined it would not alter any part of our lives. I have also worked for the Team Type 1 - Professional Cycling Team and with their athletes to balance training and nutrition by trying many different sports drinks. Watching the athletes manage their Type 1 Diabetes while competing at the top level added to my knowledge of sports nutrition and management. Just in case I needed more experience, my husband, Simon, is a professional cyclist and Type 1 Diabetic. We have tried different kinds of sports drinks to control and manage his blood sugars on training rides. When I read the label of the Hydro One Rev D drink I was thrilled to see the nutritional contents. I can compare to the taste to vitamin water or fuse beverages. It is about the same price, but contains little or no sugar, no corn syrup, and more health benefits. Mango Passion Fruit is my personal reccomendation!

I have been drinking the BODE Memory drink since May 2010. I was curious about the ingredient Alpha-GPC, since it is supposed to strengthen muscles and help turn fat mass into muscle mass. I had tried every diet, including fasting, and had not been able to lose any weight. Without changing my diet or level of exercise and by drinking an average of one Memory drink per day, I have lost a total of 25 pounds and 3 pant sizes!

I suffer from joint pain; due to arthritis. I was introduced to the HydroOne products in September of 2011. I began drinking HydroOne Bode for Joint Health (Hibiscus) on a daily basis. I am diabetic and finally found a drink I really like. Right, natural sweeteners, of course! I’m happy to hear my favorite will be available next week. I also want to note that at Whole Foods, the Blueberry Pomegranate flavor sells out first, repeatedly, and I have asked them to place a bigger order to begin with. And back to the sweetener, the natural part is actually what is so important to me. I have always liked sodas and my Dr. told me to drink only diet, but aspartame and sucralose are horrid chemicals and I won’t drink them. I’m shocked that these things are allowed in our food/beverage products. I appreciate your efforts in producing a great product that tastes excellent.
